Looking for something special and you just can’t find it anywhere?  Let our custom design team create it for you!

How the Process Works

First, we discuss your idea with you and once we understand your vision we get it down on paper by drawing it with a
computer generated or hand drawn rendering. Once you approve the idea, then we proceed to carve the item into the 3 dimensional wax model.  This model is then cast into the precious metal of your choosing. Once cast, the item is polished and assembled, and any gems you have chosen are set and your finished piece of jewelry is ready to wear and enjoy!

Meltingpoint Jewelers: Where two hearts melt into one!

Joy and Jim are a lucky couple. They are blessed with the rare and desirable relationship based on compatibility. They live and work harmoniously together spending so much time together that it is unclear where one begins and the other ends.  All the while being best of friends, through thick and thin.

They wanted their wedding rings to reflect this idea. After talking with them, a design was created with their names wrapped around the bands with no beginning and no end to the pattern. In Joy’s ring we set a diamonds into the names. The finished product means the world to them because it captures the meaning behind their special bond!

The custom design process is not for everyone! It is more expensive and requires more effort than buying something off the rack. However, to wear a piece of jewelry created for you that is truly an original work of art, can bring you pleasure for many years to come.

For many brides to be the custom design service becomes an important solution. Their fiancé has just presented them with an unusual engagement ring that doesn’t have a matching wedding band to go with it. It becomes an obvious problem after shopping and discovering that nothing exists to compliment what they have.

We have the ability to make a band that is a hand in glove fit for that hard to match engagement ring. However we need to work with the actual engagement ring to do this kind of work because it is impossible to create a perfect fit without it.  This type of work is scheduled at the convenience of the bride to be and we try to process these orders as quickly as possible. After the finished product is completed and on her hand the separation anxiety is soon forgotten. The result is a design that works perfectly with her ring.

We can also work with you on design work through our web site. Send us a picture of what your looking for and we will be happy to contact you to start the design process.  A 50% non refundable deposit is required to begin work and all custom orders are not returnable.  Because of this, we will try very hard to make sure you are comfortable with the custom process before we commit to the order. We know that a happy customer is the always the key to continued success.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to make a custom ring?

From the original drawings, model creation and the production of the final piece allow 6 to 8 weeks.  In the case of making a matching wedding band, please schedule an appointment so we can create the match up band and get your engagement ring back to you in 1 to 2 days.  We may need to get it back for a final fitting after the ring has been cast to make any critical adjustments.

How much does it cost?

Each situation is different.  A quote will be provided at your first free design consultation after we have a clear idea of what you are looking for.  Please note that we always try to save you money.  Modifying  an existing design from our inventory can save us time and you money.  We will always try to respect your budget when designing your ring and build the best product in the most affordable way.

When I trust you with my ring to do repairs or custom design, how do I know that my diamonds will not be switched?

Knowledge is power!  We will provide you with a take in receipt that details exactly what you are leaving with us and you will review your ring with you, examining it under a microscope. Always schedule an appointment when you are dropping off your jewelry so we can take the necessary time go over it with you.  All details will be noted in writing, along with the value of the item.  You will then check the item against all this information, and sign off on it before taking your jewelry home with you.  This protects the jeweler and the customer from any misdoing.

What kind of a guarantee do you offer on your repairs and products?

We build all of our pieces with the highest quality of parts and craftsmanship possible.  But because jewelry if often worn everyday it is unrealistic to expect an unconditional, lifetime guarantee. In order to better stand behind our product, we require that you allow us clean and check all jewelry made by us at least once a year.  When you do this it will be clear by inspection whether a repair is due to normal wear and tare or is a result of defective parts or craftsmanship.  We reserve the right to inspect the item and make that determination.  If it is clear that something went wrong on our part we will gladly repair or replace the item.  However, you should expect to have some repair and maintenance costs over the lifetime of any jewelry item that you wear on a regular basis.

How long does a repair take?

It really depends if it is a simple repair or a total restoration of a delicate family heirloom.  Anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks.  An exact estimate of cost and time will be given to you when you drop it off.
